"Red, Yellow, Blue, Green" is a piece that I wrote that can be performed with many different kinds of instruments in an elementary music class. I have autoharps, mallets, keyboards, and violins available. So, I put this page together to showcase how I'm using each of them.
The song is based around chords that work well with all four violin open strings, yet still work together melodically. I chose "C Major" for the open "E" string, "A minor" for the open "A", "D minor" for the open "D", and "G Major" for the open "G" string.
I cut little pieces of translucent stickers, and marked the four autoharp buttons. I used the full dots to indicate two-note versions of the chords on keyboards and mallet instruments, and little pieces on the violin bridges just under each string.
The sheet music for the parts is also marked with colors. Click here for (Violin, or here for Melody). You can hear an mp3 file of the song here.
